Edge paragraph margins are now zeroed at the source in
markdown-content.css, but the user bubble and the system message still
carried the -my-4 compensation for them. The uncompensated negative
margins shrank the wrapper 2rem below its content, collapsing
single-line user bubbles into a scrollable sliver and skewing the
system message expand threshold.
* ui: fix Show tool call in progress toggle ignored
The showToolCallInProgress setting was disconnected from the render
path during the agentic content rework: getDefaultExpanded() returns
a hardcoded false for tool call sections and an unconditional effect
auto-expands the currently executing tool call regardless of the
setting.
Drive default expansion of all tool call section types from the
setting and remove the now redundant auto-expand effect. Manual
toggling still takes precedence over the default in both directions.
* ui: rename Show tool call in progress to Always show tool call content
The previous name suggested symmetry with Show thought in progress,
which only applies while inference is running, but tool call content
stays expanded after completion. Rename the label, the settings key
and the syncable server key to alwaysShowToolCallContent. The synced
parameter never worked under its previous name so no migration is
needed.
The agentic gate counted MCP servers, builtin and custom tools but not
frontend tools, so with the JS sandbox as the only tool source the
agentic flow was skipped, no tools field reached the server and the
chat template rendered without the tool system prompt.
The sandbox is fully client-side: frontendTools derives from the
Developer settings toggle alone, counting it in the gate restores that
single source of truth.
read_file with append_loc emits "{n}\u2192 {line}". The space after the
arrow is meant as a separator, but it is indistinguishable from real
indentation. Models strip "{n}\u2192" yet keep the space, so the old_text
passed to edit_file carries a phantom leading space and never matches
(normalize_for_fuzzy_match trims trailing whitespace only, never leading).
Drop the separator space so the arrow abuts content: stripping "{n}\u2192"
now yields the exact line with its real indentation preserved, and the
failure mode cannot occur by construction. Update the description example
to match the new format.
In MODEL mode, modelPropsCache is never populated: fetchModelProps
call sites are gated on router-only state (isRouterMode checks,
routerModels always empty), so supportsThinking always reads an
empty chat template once a model is auto-selected.
Read serverStore.props.chat_template directly in non-router mode,
since the global /props already describes the single loaded model.
* metal: fuse snake activation (mul, sin, sqr, mul, add)
Mirror the CUDA, Vulkan and CPU snake fusion: same matcher on the naive
5-op chain, same F32 contract on a and inv_b, same F32/F16/BF16 kernel
with F32 compute. Follows the Metal backend idioms: bf16 instantiation
gated behind GGML_METAL_HAS_BF16 and concurrency ranges checked on the
remaining chain nodes before encoding, as done by the bin fusion.
Covered by the existing backend-agnostic SNAKE_FUSE tests.
* metal: absorb snake fusion into ggml_metal_op_bin
Extract the matcher to ggml_metal_op_can_fuse_snake, mirroring the
Vulkan naming, and dispatch the fused path from ggml_metal_op_bin.
The encode loop switch is back to a single call per case.
Address review from ggerganov
* metal: fix indentation in ggml_metal_op_can_fuse_snake
* ui: fix MCP panel regressions after settings rework
Restore the llama-server proxy switch in the Add New Server dialog.
The dialog never passed useProxy/onUseProxyChange to McpServerForm,
which only renders the proxy switch when the handler is provided.
The flag is now wired, persisted on addServer, and reset on close.
Bound the MCP connection handshake with the configured timeout.
handshakeTimeoutMs was set in the server config but never consumed.
The SDK timeout only covers the initialize request, not
transport.start(), which can hang forever on an unreachable host.
The whole handshake now races against the timeout and closes the
transport on expiry so the underlying fetch or socket is aborted.
Keep disabled MCP servers visible in management and chat-add UIs.
Collapsing mcpDefaultServerOverrides into mcpServers[i].enabled turned
the visibleMcpServers enabled filter into a visibility trap: toggling
a server off outside a conversation hid it from every surface with no
way to re-enable it. The filter is dropped, tools derived from health
checks still skip disabled servers, and the settings page and server
card render the real card instead of a skeleton for disabled servers
that never receive a startup health check.
* ui: clarify MCP server list semantics and add regression test
Remove the visibleMcpServers getter, a filterless alias of getServers
whose name invites the next refactor to put a filter back. Call sites
read getServers directly, the duplicate list in the chat submenu is
merged, and the misleading local variable in the sheet is renamed.
A parser unit test pins the invariant: enabled is an on/off state,
never a visibility filter, so disabled servers stay listed and
toggleable.
* ui: apply the MCP request timeout setting live to all servers
The per-server requestTimeoutSeconds field was never editable in any
UI and froze the global setting at server creation time, so changing
the timeout in Settings was a no-op for existing servers. The field
is removed from the data model and parsers, the timeout is read live
from the global setting wherever a request config is built, and the
misleading "Can be overridden per server" help text is dropped. A
parser unit test guards against reintroducing the stored field.
* ui: move the MCP request timeout into the Agentic settings section
The MCP section held a single setting. The timeout is a global tool
execution parameter like the other Agentic entries, so it moves there
and the section is removed. Same settings key, no migration needed.
* ui: remove the dead tool preview lines setting
The agenticMaxToolPreviewLines setting was read into AgenticConfig
and consumed by nothing: the agentic loop only uses enabled and
maxTurns. Its help text described a previous architecture where only
truncated previews and the final response survived the loop; tool
results and intermediate turns now persist as full DB messages, so
the setting had no effect at any value. Stale keys in localStorage
or a server ui-config are ignored.
* ui: resolve absent MCP per-chat overrides to the server enabled flag
New conversations started with every MCP server off: the settings
rework stopped seeding a per-conversation override list, assuming
the enabled check would fall back to mcpServers[i].enabled, but it
fell back to false, and the send path passed the raw stored list
with no fallback at all. The per-conversation list is now sparse by
contract, holding only explicit toggles, and every access point
resolves a missing entry to the server's own enabled flag: the
toggle display, the resolved list handed to the agentic flow, and
the enabled check itself.
The mobile "+" sheet was missing the reasoning effort section present
in the desktop dropdown, so thinking could not be toggled on touch.
Extract the shared derivation and selection logic into useReasoningMenu
and consume it from both the desktop submenu and the mobile sheet,
keeping a single source of truth and preserving each surface idiom.
* mtmd: fix silent prompt truncation on embedded NUL
mtmd_input_text carried the prompt as a bare const char* with no
length, so a NUL byte in message content cut the prompt at the
tokenizer boundary and dropped every later message plus the assistant
marker, with no log. Add an explicit text_len and thread it through,
matching llama_tokenize and the text only path.
* cleanup

* server: accept null sampling params
Extend the schema validation to treat a null value as absent, so
clients can send null on nullable params (temperature, top_p, ...)
to request the server default. This matches the OpenAI spec and the
json_value convention used elsewhere.
Add has_field() to skip null in the field eval guards.
* has_field -> has_value
downloadConversation serialized activeMessages, the root -> currNode
path, so exporting a conversation with edited or regenerated messages
dropped every alternate version and kept only the selected one.
Fetch the whole message tree via getConversationMessages so the export
carries all message versions, matching the multi-conversation export
path which already did this. Keep the active conversation as the header
source to preserve an up-to-date currNode.
Forks are separate conversations, each with its own convId, and are
exported on their own.
* cuda: fix snake fusion type predicate, a and inv_b are F32
The matcher required a->type == x->type while launch_snake reads both
as const float *, matching the CPU and Metal contract where a and inv_b
stay F32. F16/BF16 chains never fused and fell back to the naive path,
and a hypothetical all F16 chain would have read F16 bits as float.
Aligns the predicate and the comment with ggml-cpu.c
* cuda: reject snake fusion on non-contiguous operands
The kernel reads x[idx] and a[c] / inv_b[c] linearly, so a
non-contiguous view passing the matcher would silently read wrong data.
Mirror the contiguity guard already present in the CPU, Vulkan and
Metal matchers.
* server-stream : pimpl
* server-stream: prefix free functions with server_stream_
address review from ggerganov: scope the public stream functions under the
server_stream_ prefix, matching server_stream_session_manager_start/stop.
* server-stream: guard session and manager state with the mutex
address review from ggerganov: make done, completed_ts and the GC running flag plain members under their
mutex and set the condvar predicates under the lock. keep cancelled atomic for
the lock-free should_stop poll.
* server-stream: trim comments to the non-obvious
address review from ggerganov: drop comments that restate the code, keep the
concurrency, lifetime and ordering rationale. de-stale a few comments left by the
pimpl: g_stream_sessions is now internal and the /v1/streams listing is gone.
* server-stream: update dev docs for the pimpl and prefix
reflect server_stream_session_manager_start/stop and the server_stream_ prefix,
note the manager is now a file-static singleton hidden in the .cpp
* server-stream: move stream traces to debug level
keep the bring-up traces for diagnostics but off the default log: skip
drain, draining, drain ended, DELETE evict, attach_pipe, and the router
stream resume proxy.
* server-stream: align router stream resume proxy trace with upstream
the child-side bring-up traces are already SRV_TRC on master, move the
router stream resume proxy trace to the same level.
* server-stream: move stream_read_status enum to the cpp
it is only used by the hidden session and consumer types, so it belongs
with them behind the pimpl boundary, not on the public header surface.

* metal: add col2im_1d op (f32/f16/bf16)
Gather kernel mirroring the CPU/CUDA path: each output (t_out, oc)
reads its ceil(K/s0) source columns with an F32 accumulator, a single
write and no atomics. One thread per output element, 256 per
threadgroup.
* metal: check dst contiguity and type match in supports_op for COL2IM_1D
Align the GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D predicate with the CPU, CUDA, and Vulkan
backends: the kernel writes dst with linear indexing and assumes the
same type as src0, so supports_op must also require a contiguous dst
and op->type == op->src[0]->type.

* server: fix deadlock in load_models() when erasing a finished download
The download monitoring thread acquires the models mutex on its way out,
but load_models() joined it from the erase loop while holding that mutex.
Join it outside the lock via threads_to_join like the other monitoring
threads.
* server: add default timeout to test requests
A hung server now fails the test after 10 minutes instead of stalling
the CI job for hours. Explicit timeouts are unchanged.
* ui: migrate legacy string-encoded booleans in persisted config
* ui: enable thinking by default
Fresh users and legacy conversations without a persisted thinking
preference now default to enabled. The per-conversation toggle and
the persisted localStorage choice keep taking precedence.
Picks up the enable_thinking default from #24876.
* server + ui: ping silent SSE streams every 1s and kick only after 3s so slow prefill never drops healthy connections
* server + ui: sse_ping_interval becomes a per-request body field
Address review from ngxson: the global default returns to 30 so API
clients see no behavior change, and the WebUI sends sse_ping_interval: 1
in the request body since it owns the 3s visibility-kick contract and
declares the cadence it needs. Positive values keep the existing > 0
gate, -1 keeps its disabled semantics.
* server: move sse_ping_interval into the request schema
Address review from ngxson: the field is now a typed field_num with
hard limits (-1, INT32_MAX) bound to task_params, seeded from the CLI
default alongside the other inherited parameters. The raw json_value
read and its redundant comment are gone, and schema evaluation brings
type and range validation for free.
* common, server: handle bracketed IPv6 literals in URL authority
Parse the [host]:port form (RFC 3986) and bracket IPv6 hosts when
formatting a URL authority: listening log, proxy Host header, proxy
log, client rebuild. The per-request remote_addr stays bare.
* common: restore unsupported scheme throw in url parser
Address @ngxson review: keep the explicit reject in port resolution so
the block stays self-contained. Non-http(s) schemes still throw (also
gated at the top of common_http_parse_url).
* server: SSE replay buffer, survives client disconnect
Opt in on POST /v1/chat/completions when the client sends
X-Stream-Resume: 1 and a non empty X-Conversation-Id. The conv id is
the session identity end to end, no extra opaque token. The drain
runs detached server side and buffers SSE bytes, the generation
survives HTTP disconnect, F5, or lets users switch from iOS Safari
to another app without losing the actively generated response.
Routes:
GET /v1/stream/<conv_id>?from=N replay
GET /v1/streams[?conversation_id=X] list, drives sidebar spinners
DELETE /v1/stream/<conv_id> Stop, idempotent
Router parent fans out to children for list and delete, probes on GET
to route to the owner, fans out DELETE on POST so "one session per
conv" holds across model swaps.
WebUI: the layout snapshots /v1/streams at mount and on
visibilitychange, the sidebar reflects live inferences across all
convs. The chat page reattaches on mount, append vs fresh is detected
from existing content so continue mid stream keeps its prefix.
update_slots: on llama_memory_seq_rm refusal at a deep position, full
clear of the seq and reprefill from zero instead of GGML_ABORT.
OAI strict path unchanged when the opt in headers are absent.
* server: create stream session only after post_tasks succeeds
* server, ui: drop X-Stream-Resume, X-Conversation-Id alone enables the replay buffer
* server: drop magic 17, derive the X-Conversation-Id header length from sizeof at build time
* refactor: address review feedback from ngxson
* server-context: cleaning
* server-stream: fix use-after-free on rd
Guard stop_producer with a shared alive flag, flipped by on_stream_end
before rd dies. Prevents a late cancel (session eviction by a later
POST on the same conv_id, or a DELETE arriving after the producer
ended) from touching a destroyed rd.
* ui: fix cross-conversation contamination
Scope streaming flags per conv so one finishing does not unflag the
others, guard discoverActiveStream against concurrent runs to avoid
duplicate attaches, and stop racing syncRemoteRunningStreams for the
sidebar set.
* server-http: keep request alive in detached SSE drain
The response next() lambda may reach into *request via &req long
after on_complete reset the request shared_ptr. Capture request in
the detached thread so it outlives the drain.
* ui: address review feedback from coder543
Forward Authorization to /v1/stream and /v1/streams fetches, the resumable routes
must obey --api-key like the rest of the API.
Wrap reader.read() in a try/catch, the underlying connection drop rejects with
TypeError instead of resolving done=true, treat it as a premature end of stream
so the existing resume loop kicks in.
Freeze the model at session start in chatStreamingStates.model and thread it
through cancel and resume, the dropdown selection may have changed since the
POST and the server side identity is fixed at that time.
* format
* ui: remove unused selectedModelName
* server-stream: poll session->is_cancelled() in stream_aware_should_stop
Address review feedback from coder543. The cancel propagation through
rd.stop() relies on the slot eventually processing the cancel task and
posting a result that notifies the recv condvar, remove_waiting_task_ids
does not notify directly. Add a defensive poll on session->is_cancelled()
so the producer-side next() loop exits on its next iteration after
cancel() without waiting for the cancel task to round trip through a slot.
* server-stream, ui: replace GET /v1/streams with POST /v1/streams/lookup
Address review feedback from coder543. Listing live sessions leaks the
conversation_id of every concurrent user, which defeats the random UUID
unguessability. The new route takes {conversation_ids: [...]} in the
body and returns matches only for the ids the caller already owns, so
foreign UUIDs stay private. The router fans out the same POST to every
child and aggregates, the WebUI passes the convs visible in its sidebar.
* ui: read conv ids from IndexedDB in syncRemoteRunningStreams
The conversations store is not hydrated yet at +layout onMount, so the
sidebar spinners stayed off for background convs until the user clicked
on them. Read straight from the DB to dodge the init race.
* server-models: deduplicate stream lookup timeouts behind one constant
* ui: extract visibility kick grace into a stream constant, bump to 1000 ms
* make it safer & more simple
* server-stream: survive client disconnect via stream_pipe::finish_producer
After the RAII rewrite the generation stopped the moment the client
disconnected. httplib bails its content provider on the is_peer_alive
check at the top of write_content_chunked, so returning true from the
provider never keeps it producing: the response resets, rd is destroyed
and its task gets cancelled.
Reinstate the disconnect survival inside the pipe. stream_pipe gains
finish_producer, which pumps the response next() into the ring buffer
until the generation ends, and mark_producer_done for the clean wire
end. server-http only triggers them: mark before sink.done on a clean
close, finish in on_complete when the peer left early. No detach, no
stream logic in server-http beyond the trigger, and the strict OAI path
is untouched when no pipe is attached.
Known limitation: finish_producer pumps synchronously on the http
worker, so a disconnected stream keeps its worker busy until the
generation ends. A follow-up will move the drain off the http worker so
no worker is held.
* server-stream: drain disconnected streams on a manager owned thread
The previous commit pumped the post disconnect drain synchronously in
on_complete, on the http worker, so a disconnected stream kept its
worker busy until the generation ended. Under a wave of reloads or tab
closes that pins workers from the pool.
Move the drain off the http worker. on_complete now hands the response
to stream_session_manager::adopt_orphan, which pumps it to completion on
a manager owned thread and releases the worker at once. One thread per
disconnected stream still generating, stored in a list, joined and
reaped on the next adopt, by the GC, and at shutdown. No detach, the
thread lifecycle is fully owned by the manager. needs_drain gates the
handoff so a cleanly finished stream never spawns a thread, and the
strict OAI path stays untouched when no pipe is attached.
stop_gc now cancels sessions before finalizing them, so an in flight
drain sees is_cancelled and exits instead of blocking the shutdown join
until the generation ends naturally.
* ui: add missing JSDoc
* server-stream: drain on the http worker, drop the manager thread
Address @ngxson review: httplib runs a large dynamic pool and a worker
blocked in next() sits on a condvar instead of burning cpu, so draining
the rest of the generation on that worker is fine and much simpler than
a dedicated thread.
on_complete calls finish_producer directly again. Removes adopt_orphan,
the orphan thread list and its reaping, the stop_gc session cancel that
only existed to unblock those threads, and the now dead drain_shutdown
flag.
* server-stream: split stream_pipe into producer and consumer classes
Address @ngxson review: one class covering both ends was messy. stream_pipe
is now a base holding the session and is_cancelled, with stream_pipe_producer
(write, mark_producer_done, finish_producer, cleanup, finalizes on destruct)
and stream_pipe_consumer (read only, no finalize) deriving from it.
Drops the is_producer_ discriminator and its runtime guards, the type now
encodes the role. res.spipe is retyped to shared_ptr<stream_pipe_producer>
since it is only ever a producer. No behavior change.
* server-stream: rename producer methods to unix pipe semantics
Address @ngxson review: mark_producer_done becomes done(), finish_producer
becomes close(), matching a unix pipe write end. The producer_done_ member
follows as done_. write() is unchanged. No behavior change.
* server, ui: route resumable streams via a conv map, persist resume identity
Address ngxson review: drop the polling probe, proxy_post records a conv_id ->
model map and the stream routes resolve the owning child with one lookup. The
map is the single source of truth, the ::model suffix stays for child session
uniqueness but the router never parses it.
UI: the server keys a session by the POST time identity (conv::model), but reload
probed with the bare conv id and missed model tagged sessions, so F5 stopped the
stream and sidebar spinners stayed off. Persist the model and rebuild the exact
identity on resume, single conv and bulk sidebar both send it.
Add unit coverage for the identity round trip.
* ui: resolve continue target by id to stop cross-conversation flash on switch
* ui: skip stream resume when the abort is intentional
* server: move the conv id to model map into a self contained tracker
Address review from ngxson: server_models held two mutexes side by side, the
global one and a bare conv_model_mu guarding a loose map, which made the locking
hard to follow. Wrap the map and its lock in a small conv_model_tracker struct
that owns its mutex, one mutex per struct. The remember, lookup and forget
methods move inline into the tracker, server_models exposes a single conv_models
member and the routes call models.conv_models.lookup and friends. No behavior
change, the map stays the single source of truth for routing resumable streams
to a child.
* ui: replace stream magic values with enums and shared constants
Address review from allozaur: lift the inline literals around the resumable
stream code into named symbols so the intent is explicit and reusable.
* ui: fold the stream resume and discovery helpers into ChatService
Address review from allozaur: drop the two standalone stream-*.service files.
They were used only by the chat service and store, carried no shared state, and
did not follow the static class pattern the other services use, so a separate
abstraction was not warranted. Move the helpers onto ChatService as static
methods. No behavior change, tests now exercise them through ChatService.
* docs: document the SSE replay buffer in server README-dev
Add the resumable streaming section, list stream_session_manager in the
backend component inventory, and link PR 23226 in the related PRs.
* ui: align attachServerStream call with onCompletionId param in handleStreamResponse
* server-http: rename del_ to del to match get and post
* ui: address review feedback from allozaur
* ui: drop duplicate SSE constants, keep sse.ts canonical
* ui: use svelte:document for the visibilitychange listener
address review from allozaur: replace the manual document.addEventListener
in onMount with a declarative <svelte:document onvisibilitychange>. svelte
handles attach, detach and SSR, so the typeof document guard and the onMount
cleanup go away. onMount keeps only the first load snapshot.
* server: trim redundant stream drain comments
Address review from ngxson
* server: balance and clean up stream comments
remove redundant comments and tighten the verbose ones across the resumable
stream code, keeping the concurrency and lifetime rationale that is not obvious
from the code. also fix two stale comments in server.cpp and server-models.h
that still described the old ::model suffix probe and fan out routing, now
replaced by the conv_id -> model map
Address review from ngxson
* ui: balance and clean up stream comments
dedup repeated rationale (frozen conv::model identity, the lookup privacy note,
the abort patterns) down to one canonical spot, tighten the verbose blocks, and
keep the concurrency and resume-offset reasoning. fix stale comments in
stream-identity.ts and chat.service.ts that still described the old loopback
probe and fan out routing, now the conv_id -> model map.

line_start -1 normalized to n+1, so append inserted at lines.begin() + n + 1,
one past end() -> heap-buffer-overflow in vector::_M_range_insert.
Normalize -1 to n (insert at end()), restrict -1 to append mode and reject it
for replace/delete instead of silently clobbering the last line. Parenthesize
the insert offset so empty-file append computes the position as int first,
avoiding a transient begin() - 1 on a null vector data pointer.

* ui: add source toggle to mermaid and svg blocks
Add a toggle button next to copy and preview that switches a rendered
mermaid or svg block to its source code and back. The button is shared by
both block types and the rendered view stays the default.
The source view reuses the code block scroll container and the highlighted
code element captured at transform time, so it matches the app code blocks
without highlighting again.
Make tall diagrams scroll like text code blocks: safe centering keeps the
diagram centered when it fits and falls back to start alignment when it
overflows, so the top stays reachable instead of clipping above.
Keep the block header opaque and layered above the scrolled diagram, and
ignore header clicks in the zoom handler, so a button click never falls
through to the zoom dialog.

* ui: add svg block visualizer based on allozaur's mermaid PR
* ui: rationalise diagram block styling and pre transforms shared by mermaid and svg
* ui: live render streaming svg blocks
* ui: also render svg authored in xml code fences
* ui: refactor svg block rendering, address review from allozaur
- Move the svg size ceiling and DOMPurify config out of sanitize-svg.ts into /constants.
- Rename the svg-diagram class to svg-block so the name no longer implies diagrams only.
- Replace the svg, xml and svg tag magic strings in the markdown pipeline with shared constants.
- Promote the data-svg-rendered marker and its sibling data attributes to constants.
* ui: render svg blocks in a shadow root for animation and live zoom
Mount each sanitized svg inside an open shadow root so author <style> and
keyframe or smil animations run while staying scoped to the host element.
Relax the sanitizer to forbid only foreignObject and script, which lets
animation, href and external resource refs through for wider compatibility.
Render the inline block and the zoom dialog from the same reactive source,
so a streaming svg keeps drawing live inside the open zoom popup.
* ui: make mobile layout keyboard-aware via interactive-widget and dvh shell anchor
* ui: fix duplicate PWA refresh popup by scoping the storage check to non-PWA pages
* ui: bake jpeg exif orientation into uploaded images
stb_image in mtmd ignores exif metadata, so rotated smartphone photos
reach the model with raw pixel orientation. The webui now reads the
exif orientation tag at send time and feeds it into the existing
capImageDataURLSize canvas pass: the browser applies the rotation when
decoding, so capped images come out upright for free, and images under
the cap threshold get a single plain redraw when orientation > 1.
At most one re-encode ever happens per image. Upright jpegs with
capping disabled pass through untouched, bit perfect.
Adds jpeg-orientation.ts with a minimal exif parser working on a
bounded base64 prefix (both endianness, returns 1 on any malformed
input) and unit tests against handcrafted jpeg byte streams.
* ui: move jpeg exif constants into lib/constants
* ui: add browser test for jpeg orientation and capping
Covers capImageDataURLSize end to end in chromium with real Pillow
generated jpeg fixtures across exif orientations 1/3/5/6/8: upright
quadrant colors checked pixel-wise, expected dimensions with and
without capping, no orientation tag left in the output, and strict
passthrough when nothing needs rewriting.
* ui: add opt-in run_javascript frontend tool
Expose a run_javascript tool to the model, executed entirely in the
browser through the existing agentic loop. Code runs in a Web Worker
inside a sandboxed iframe with an opaque origin, isolated from the
WebUI and its API. Console output, errors and the return value are
fed back as the tool result. The parent enforces a hard timeout by
removing the iframe, which terminates the worker.
Disabled by default, toggle in Settings > Developer.
* ui: address review feedback from allozaur
Use the JsonSchemaType enum for the tool definition parameter types
instead of raw string literals, extending it with STRING and NUMBER.
Move the worker shim and the iframe harness html into their own files
so the service no longer carries inline source blobs.
Replace the remaining magic strings with constants: SANDBOX_EMPTY_OUTPUT
and SANDBOX_TRUNCATION_NOTICE, and reuse NEWLINE_SEPARATOR for joins.
* ui: move sandbox worker shim to a raw imported file
Replace the inline worker template string with a real sandbox-worker.js
imported as raw text, and build the iframe harness from it in
sandbox-harness.ts. The raw worker ships as a string, not a module, so
it is excluded from eslint and the typecheck program.
* cpu: add GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D
Add the overlap-add (scatter-add) step of a 1D transposed convolution.
A ConvTranspose1d factorizes as a GEMM followed by col2im: a weight
pre-permuted to [IC, K*OC] is contracted against the [IC, T_in] input
with mul_mat to produce a column matrix [K*OC, T_in], and col2im_1d
scatters those columns back into the [T_out, OC] signal, with
T_out = (T_in - 1)*s0 + K - 2*p0.
Keeping the contraction as a plain mul_mat leaves the heavy work on the
optimized (and quantizable) matmul kernels, so col2im_1d only does the
cheap overlap-add.
CPU uses a gather formulation parallelized over output channels,
supporting F32, F16 and BF16 with an F32 accumulator.
* tests: add backend coverage for GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D
Add test_col2im_1d next to the conv_transpose_1d cases, covering F32,
F16 and BF16 across eight geometries: the canonical kernel = 2*stride
DAC upsampling shape, overlap, no overlap, cropping (p0 = 1 and
p0 = stride/2), kernel < stride with zeroed gaps, kernel not a
multiple of stride, and a single column unfold.
Perf mode gets three real vocoder stage shapes reporting memory
bandwidth. max_nmse_err relaxes to 5e-4 for F16 and BF16.
* cpu: harden GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D
ggml_col2im_1d validates s0, oc, p0 and input contiguity at graph
build time, before the oc division, protecting every backend at once.
The kernel asserts the contiguity its flat indexing assumes and its
doc states the full output length including the crop term.
The kernel parallelizes over the time axis: the split stays balanced
down to OC = 1, where the previous channel split was single threaded.
Values are bit identical on the three real vocoder chains, two out of
three improve.
* tests: extend the GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D grid
The eval grid grows to eleven geometries: OC = 1 (mono output stage),
K = 1 with stride > 1 (sparse scatter, every gap position zeroed) and
a crop down to T_out = 2 where all the gather bounds act at once.
* tests: add col2im_1d equivalence test
tests/test-col2im-1d.cpp proves mul_mat + col2im_1d matches the
native ggml_conv_transpose_1d on the CPU backend, F32 bit exact, F16
and BF16 through casts of the column matrix. test-backend-ops cannot
cover this for a CPU only op since the CPU backend is its own
reference there.
* rpc: bump protocol patch version for GGML_OP_COL2IM_1D
GGML_OP_COUNT goes from 96 to 97 with the new op, which trips the
static_assert in ggml-rpc.h. Bump RPC_PROTO_PATCH_VERSION since the
op is appended and no existing op code shifts.
A SWA-only draft head (e.g. StepFun MTP) leaves the base sub-cache
empty, so its kq_mask buffer stays null and asserts at load. Guard
each mask on its own buffer in set_input and can_reuse, base and swa.
Co-authored-by: Georgi Gerganov <ggerganov@gmail.com>
A fitted target context can end up smaller than the draft default, the
oversized assistant views then overflow the shared K/V tensors and trip
the ggml_view_4d size assert during graph reserve.
* webui: fix tool selector toggle/counter, key tools by stable identity
Key the disabled set, counts and toggles by a stable per-tool key
instead of bare function name, deduped from one canonical list. Per-tool
checkboxes become presentational (single row handler, no nested button),
category checkboxes drop the tristate (n/total carries partial). One
getEnabledToolsForLLM keeps normalized MCP schemas and dedupes by name.
* ui: use SvelteSet and SvelteMap for local tool collections to satisfy svelte/prefer-svelte-reactivity
* server: real-time reasoning interruption via control endpoint
Builds on the manual reasoning budget trigger from #23949. Adds a
CONTROL task that mirrors the CANCEL path on the live slot and calls
common_sampler_reasoning_budget_force to end thinking mid-generation.
POST /v1/chat/completions/control with { id_slot, action }, opt-in
reasoning_control arms the budget sampler on demand. Router and single
model. Minimal WebUI button as a skeleton for further UI work.
* ui: track reasoning phase via explicit streaming state
Add isReasoning to the chat store, mirroring the isLoading pattern:
per conversation map, private setter, public accessor and reactive
export. Set from the stream callbacks, true on reasoning chunks, false
on the first content chunk, reset on stream end and resynced on
conversation switch. The skip button now keys off isReasoning so it
shows only during the thinking phase, not the whole generation.
* ui: extract control endpoint and action into constants
Move the chat completion routes, the slots route and the reasoning
control action out of chat.service into api-endpoints and a dedicated
control-actions module. No behavior change, drops the magic strings so
the control protocol has a single source of truth.
* server: target reasoning control by completion id
Address @ngxson review on the control endpoint.
Switch from id_slot to the chat completion id to avoid a TOCTOU: the
slot can be reassigned between the lookup and the control request, so
matching the live completion (oaicompat_cmpl_id) is safe and a finished
one simply matches nothing. Rename the action to reasoning_end, guard
it on the reasoning_control flag of the target slot, and reduce the
response to {success} with an optional message.
* ui: target reasoning control by completion id
Keep the streamed completion id on the message and post it back to the
control endpoint instead of probing /slots. Drops the slot discovery
and the TOCTOU that came with it. Action renamed to reasoning_end,
response read as {success}.
* server: address review from @ngxson
Move the control fields into task_params and drop the redundant
comments on the control path.
* server: document the reasoning control endpoint
* Update tools/ui/src/lib/types/database.d.ts
Co-authored-by: Aleksander Grygier <aleksander.grygier@gmail.com>
* ui: rename cmplId to completionId
Per @allozaur review, clearer name for the streamed completion id.
* ui: wire completion id capture through the agentic flow
The webui streams through the agentic flow, which relayed onModel but
not onCompletionId, so the completion id never reached the message and
the control request was never sent. Relay it through the flow and its
callbacks type, declare id on the chunk type, and log an explicit error
when the button fires without a usable id.
* ui: target reasoning control model from the message
The model is a property of the completion, so read it from the streaming
message like the id, not from the model dropdown which is unrelated UI
state. Makes the request self-consistent by construction instead of just
unlikely to drift.

* webui: add custom CSS injection via config
register a customCSS setting in the Developer section under Custom JSON,
syncable so it rides the existing ui-config pass through. inject the value
into a single style element in the head, reactive on the setting. lets an
operator theme a prebuilt binary through --ui-config without rebuilding,
and lets a user set it from the settings panel.
* ui: address review from @niutech and @allozaur, rename custom JSON key and CSS field
* ui: address review from @allozaur, move custom CSS injection to a style tag in svelte:head
* ui: inject custom CSS through a svelte action instead of a bound element
move the textContent write into a use: action on the head style node.
the action is the idiomatic way to touch a node, so the no-dom-manipulating
lint rule is satisfied without a disable. value stays text through
textContent, never parsed as HTML.

ffn_latent_down/up are declared GGML_OP_MUL in LLM_TENSOR_INFOS but
nemotron-h feeds them through ggml_mul_mat. The loader buft probe asks
the backend about the declared op, so it tested an elementwise MUL on a
q8_0 weight. That used to return true unconditionally and the weight
stayed on GPU by luck. Once supports_op told the truth, the probe got a
no and the loader pushed the weight and its matmul to CPU, splitting the
graph. Tagging it MUL_MAT asks the real question, the math is unchanged.
Verified on Nemotron 3 Super 120B Q5_K_M: from 64.9 back to 103.22 t/s.
* vulkan: fuse snake activation (mul, sin, sqr, mul, add)
Add snake.comp shader with F32 / F16 / BF16 pipelines and
ggml_vk_snake_dispatch_fused. The matcher recognizes the naive 5 op
decomposition emitted by audio decoders (BigVGAN, Vocos) for snake
activation y = x + sin(a*x)^2 * inv_b and rewrites it to a single
elementwise kernel.
test_snake_fuse from the CUDA PR now also compares CPU naive vs
Vulkan fused across F32 / F16 / BF16.
* vulkan: address jeffbolznv review for fused snake activation
Rename T / C to ne0 / ne1 in the shader and push constants to match
the standard naming convention used across the Vulkan backend.
Tighten ggml_vk_can_fuse_snake: require x and dst to be contiguous
(the shader uses idx = i0 + i1 * ne0) and require a / inv_b to be
tightly packed on the broadcast dim (the shader reads data_a[i1]).
* vulkan: tighten snake fusion type checks for all operands (address jeffbolznv review)
* vulkan: reject snake fusion when ne[2] or ne[3] > 1 (address jeffbolznv review)
* vulkan: address 0cc4m review for fused snake activation
snake.comp is renamed to follow the ggml DATA_A_* / A_TYPE convention.
A_TYPE now applies to the activation tensor data_a instead of the
broadcast multiplier, and the bindings become data_a (A_TYPE), data_b
(float), data_c (float) and data_d (D_TYPE). A header at the top of
the shader maps each buffer to its role in y = x + sin(b * x)^2 * c.
On the C++ side, ggml_vk_can_fuse_snake reuses the existing snake_pattern
constant instead of duplicating the op list, sin_node is extracted as a
named local alongside the other chain nodes, and the broadcast operands
a and inv_b are now required to be GGML_TYPE_F32 to match the hardcoded
float bindings on data_b and data_c (the previous a->type == x->type
would silently reject any future BF16 or F16 chain once the supports_op
gate for SIN / SQR is lifted). ggml_vk_snake_dispatch_fused gets an
explicit GGML_TYPE_F32 case and GGML_ABORT on default in place of the
silent f32 fallback, and a stale comment about data_a[i1] / data_inv_b[i1]
is refreshed to match the new binding names.
The MUL_MAT test loop iterates over base_types[] to generate non-contig
permutation cases (3 standard permutations across n in {1, 8, 16}).
BF16 is absent from base_types[], so these 9 cases were never generated
for BF16 even though every other type covered by base_types[] tests them.
Add the missing 9 cases explicitly: BF16 x F32, m=16, k=256, bs=[2,3],
permutations {0,2,1,3}, {0,1,3,2}, {0,3,2,1}, with n in {1, 8, 16}.

* server, webui: accept continue_final_message flag for vLLM API compat
Add the continue_final_message body flag from the vLLM and transformers
API. When set together with add_generation_prompt false, it triggers the
existing prefill_assistant code path, regardless of the server side
opt.prefill_assistant option. Mutual exclusion with add_generation_prompt
true is enforced, matching vLLM behavior.
WebUI sends continue_final_message and add_generation_prompt false on
the Continue button, with the matching opt in option on the chat service.
Pure API alignment, no change to the prefill logic itself. Paves the way
for the upcoming per-template prefill plumbing in common/chat.
* test: add coverage for continue_final_message vLLM compat flag
Two cases on top of the existing assistant prefill coverage. First,
continue_final_message true with add_generation_prompt false produces
the same rendered prompt as the prefill_assistant heuristic, proving
the new flag is a correct alias of the existing path. Second, both
flags set to true is rejected with HTTP 400, matching the
vLLM/transformers mutual exclusion contract.
* chore: update webui build output
* server, webui : support continue generation on reasoning models (#22727)
Remove the throw blocking assistant prefill on reasoning models and
orchestrate thinking tags around the prefilled message so the parser
routes the next stream chunks correctly. WebUI drops the reasoning
guard on the Continue button, sends reasoning_content with the
prefilled message and persists partial reasoning on stop so the CoT
survives reload and resume.
Scope : templates with a simple thinking_start_tag / thinking_end_tag
pair. Channel-based templates like GPT-OSS are out of scope, pending
a per-template prefill API in common/chat.
First step toward #21754.
* chore: update webui build output
* server: reject reasoning prefill on channel based templates
* cuda: tighten snake fusion type checks for all operands (defensive, sync vulkan)
* cuda: reject snake fusion when ne[2] or ne[3] > 1 (mirror vulkan PR review)
* cuda: merge type_ok and types_ok into a single types_ok (address am17an review)
* cuda: filter ADD/SUB/MUL/DIV in supports_op to F32/F16
bin_bcast only dispatches F32/F16 type triplets, mirror the
vulkan filter so unsupported types fall back through cpy
instead of aborting.
* test-backend-ops: extend snake_fuse to rank-4 with ne[2]/ne[3] > 1 cases
* cuda: fuse snake activation (mul, sin, sqr, mul, add)
Add ggml_cuda_op_snake_fused with F32 / F16 / BF16 templates. The

y = x + sin(a*x)^2 * inv_b and rewrites it to a single elementwise
kernel.

F32 / F16 / BF16.

* webui: add rehype plugin to restore HTML in Markdown table cells
The remark/rehype pipeline neutralizes inline HTML as literal text
(remarkLiteralHtml) so that XML/HTML snippets in LLM responses display

table cells to show as plain text.
This plugin traverses the HAST post-conversion, parses whitelisted HTML
patterns (<br>, <ul><li>) from text nodes, and replaces them with actual
HAST element nodes. For lists, adjacent siblings must be combined first
as the AST fragmentation breaks pattern matching.
Strict validation rejects malformed markup, keeping it as raw text.

* webui: restore OpenAI-Compatible model source of truth and unify metadata capture
This change re-establishes a single, reliable source of truth for the active model:
fully aligned with the OpenAI-Compat API behavior
It introduces a unified metadata flow that captures the model field from both
streaming and non-streaming responses, wiring a new onModel callback through ChatService
The model name is now resolved directly from the API payload rather than relying on
server /props or UI assumptions
ChatStore records and persists the resolved model for each assistant message during
streaming, ensuring consistency across the UI and database
Type definitions for API and settings were also extended to include model metadata
and the onModel callback, completing the alignment with OpenAI-Compat semantics
* webui: address review feedback from allozaur
* webui: move model selector into ChatForm (idea by @allozaur)
* webui: make model selector more subtle and integrated into ChatForm
* webui: replaced the Flowbite selector with a native Svelte dropdown
* webui: add developer setting to toggle the chat model selector
* webui: address review feedback from allozaur
Normalized streamed model names during chat updates
by trimming input and removing directory components before saving
or persisting them, so the conversation UI shows only the filename
Forced model names within the chat form selector dropdown to render as
a single-line, truncated entry with a tooltip revealing the full name
* webui: toggle displayed model source for legacy vs OpenAI-Compat modes
When the selector is disabled, it falls back to the active server model name from /props
When the model selector is enabled, the displayed model comes from the message metadata
(the one explicitly selected and sent in the request)

* webui: refactor model selector and persistence helpers
- Replace inline portal and event listeners with proper Svelte bindings
- Introduce 'persisted' store helper for localStorage sync without runes
- Extract 'normalizeModelName' utils + Vitest coverage
- Simplify ChatFormModelSelector structure and cleanup logic
Replaced the persisted store helper's use of '$state/$effect' runes with
a plain TS implementation to prevent orphaned effect runtime errors
outside component context

* fix: add remark plugin to render raw HTML as literal text
Implemented a missing MDAST stage to neutralize raw HTML like major LLM WebUIs
do ensuring consistent and safe Markdown rendering
Introduced 'remarkLiteralHtml', a plugin that converts raw HTML nodes in the
Markdown AST into plain-text equivalents while preserving indentation and
line breaks. This ensures consistent rendering and prevents unintended HTML
execution, without altering valid Markdown structure
Kept 'remarkRehype' in the pipeline since it performs the required conversion
from MDAST to HAST for KaTeX, syntax highlighting, and HTML serialization
Refined the link-enhancement logic to skip unnecessary DOM rewrites,
fixing a subtle bug where extra paragraphs were injected after the first
line due to full innerHTML reconstruction, and ensuring links open in new
tabs only when required
Final pipeline: remarkGfm -> remarkMath -> remarkBreaks -> remarkLiteralHtml
-> remarkRehype -> rehypeKatex -> rehypeHighlight -> rehypeStringify
